La Falconera is a touristic house located in a municipality in the northem Priorat county of the province of Tarragona.

This town, with less than a hundred inhabitants, gives us the opportunity to enjoy a few calm and relaxing days.

The entire area is notable for its high quality wines due to the fact that, La Morera is part of DO Priorat. The DO Priorat is composed of nine municipalities with a surface area of over 17.000 hectares. 1.887 of these hectares are planted vineyards cultivated by over 600 winegrowers.

In order to discover these great wines you must visit local bodegas. They will explain the production process, the characteristics of the terrain and the different varieties of wine that you will be able to taste at the end of the visit.

Furthermore, you can enjoy one of the major tourist attractions of the territory since we are at the foot of La Sierra de Montsant Natural Park. The park occupies most of the following municipalities; La Morera de Montsant, Ulldemolins, Margalef, Cabacés, Cornudella de Montsant, la Bisbal de Falset and la Figuera.

One of the main characteristics of this area is its unique and abrupt shape. Also, we can visit the Montsant river that leads to the Margalef reservoir, numerous churches as well as observe a variety of wildlife. This area is known for hiking, climbing, spelunking and BTT routes.

The park’s main office is located at highest point of the village where you can find all the necessary information regarding Montsant and its surroundings.

The office is the point of origin for excursions that will take us to the top of the Sierra passing through different paths such as, el Grau de la Grallera, Grau de l’Espinos, Grau de l’Agnet, Grau dels Barrots or Grau del Carrasclet. From there you can visit, el Toll de l’Ou, la Roca Corbatera, el Clot de Cirer or la Cova Santa.

For the more experienced, you cannot miss the opportunity to do la Via Ferrata which includes the crossing of the Tibetan bridge.

The GR-171 runs along the entire Sierra.

In a southwesterly direction and about 5 kilometres away you arrive to the town of Escaladei. This town was founded next to the Cartoixa d’Scala-Dei, witch you can also visit during your stay. The Cartoixa was built in the XIIth century, being the first of its kind on the Peninsula Iberica.

About eight kilometres away in the opposite direction on the TV-7021 you will arrive to Cornudella de Montsant the second most important village of the county. Here you can find all types of services.

After crossing the village you take the C-242 north. Here you will find a detour that will take you to the Siurana reservoir. During the summer season you can practice many aquatic sports as well as swim in calm waters.

There is a simple and beautiful hiking route that originates along the dam. At the end of the route you will find a natural pool called El Toll de la Palla.

Siurana is one of the most picturesque and beautiful towns of the province. It was declared cultural heritage of national interest.

Back on the route and heading north you will along a winding route you will go along a winding route that will take you to the village of Siurana. This is an area famous for rock climbing where people from over the world came to practice this activity.
